2 cups warm milk( or one cup milk and one cup buttermilk )
2 tablespoons yeast dry
1 cup sugar
Two tablespoons melted butter or oil
5 cups flour plus one cup for extra and dusting
Mix all wet ingredients add yeast. Let rise for 10 to 15 minutes. Slowly add all dry ingredients. Knead dough for about 8 minutes.
Dough needs to be elastic and smooth.
Let dough rise in a bowl that was lightly greased with oil. For an hour.
Lightly punch dough down and knead again for atleast 4 to 5 minutes. Let rise again for a half hour.
Roll dough out to a 1/4 of an inch thickness and cut out circles or squares.
Let rise for 15 minutes while oil heats up.
Fry on each side fir about a minute.
Glaze or powder your doughnuts and fill with desired jelly. I used seedless raspberry jam.
