One of my family’s favorite dish with sauerkraut.
POLISH SAUSAGE & SAUERKRAUT
-Onion – 1 sliced
-Red Pepper – sliced (half or hole depending on amount of polish sausage)
-Green Pepper – sliced (half or hole depending on amount of polish sausage)
-Garlic – (fresh finely chopped)
-Sauerkraut – about 1 cup ( more or less, if you want to use less, taste it and add a bit of the sauerkraut juice if you think it needs more of the sour flavor.
-Pepper – to taste
Chop up your sausage veggies & garlic.
Toss sausage in a pan and fry it up to your liking. (Mind you the sausage is already cooked so this is just to brown it & heat it up)
Sprinkle some pepper in over the sausage. Toss in the garlic. Fry together till garlic is fragrant & toss in onion and both peppers. Fry it while mixing till peppers are warm and a bit softer. Add in the sauerkraut by sprinkling it all over the sausage, it’ll make it easier to mix it in. Let it fry till everything is warm. Taste test it. If you feel like you need more sour flavor just add a bit more of the sauerkraut juice. Serve over rice or with mashed potatoes. Enjoy!!
