Baked Potato Recipe (for Beginners)

Ingredients:

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt

Optional toppings:

  • Butter
  • Sour cream
  • Shredded cheese
  • Chives or green onions
  • Bacon bits
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. Scrub potatoes clean and dry them thoroughly.
  3. Rub each potato with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  4. Place potatoes directly on the oven rack (with a baking sheet below to catch drips).
  5. Bake for 45–60 minutes, until the skins are crispy and a fork slides in easily.
  6. Slice open, fluff with a fork, and add desired toppings.
