Air Fryer KFC Coleslaw

Air Fryer KFC Coleslaw Recipe (Creamy & Crunchy Copycat)

This creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet coleslaw tastes just like KFC’s famous version!
We’ll use the air fryer to lightly roast the cabbage for a few minutes — giving it a rich flavor while keeping the signature crunch.

🍽️
 Ingredients

🥬 For the Coleslaw:

  • 4 cups green cabbage, finely shredded

  • 1 cup purple cabbage, finely shredded (optional for color)

  • large carrot, shredded

  • 2 tablespoons onion, finely minced

🥣 For the Dressing:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons buttermilk (or 2 tbsp milk + ½ tsp lemon juice)

  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

⚙️ Instructions

Step 1: Air Fry the Cabbage (optional for extra flavor)

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Place the shredded cabbage and carrots in the basket, spray lightly with olive oil spray.

  3. Air fry for 3–4 minutes, just until slightly wilted but still crisp.

  4. Remove and let cool completely.

(This step brings out the cabbage’s natural sweetness and adds a subtle smoky flavor — but you can skip it if you prefer the traditional raw version.)

Step 2: Make the Dressing

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, buttermilk, vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, and lemon juice until smooth and creamy.

Step 3: Combine

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled cabbage mixture and minced onion.

  2. Pour the dressing over the vegetables.

  3. Toss well until everything is evenly coated.

Step 4: Chill

  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight) before serving.
The flavors blend perfectly, just like KFC’s signature coleslaw!
